  You cannot think about Piemonte without thinking about the food and the wine of the region. Food and wine is an integral part of life here, it drives the economy and is in the heart and soul of the local people. Stand in a queue and the talk is not about the weather nut about recipes and menus for the next meal – very refreshing!

  The climate is good with four distinct seasons. Winters are relatively short and cold. Spring and autumn are superb with high skies and pleasant warm temperatures whilst summer is hot and dry, time to show off your suntan!

    The area has continuous local events throughout the year celebrating everything from the Asparagus harvest in May, music and theatre festivals in summer, food and wine festivals in autumn and off course the famous Truffle festivals in October/November. Most of these events have long traditions and have taken place for generations. Only now are they being discovered by non-Italians. They are priceless and great fun!

   The area has great transport links with Airports (Torino, Genova, Milan and Bergamo), Trains and Autostradas in abundance. You can be at the Mediterranean in one hour, at Mount Blanc in less than 2 hours and in Geneva in three and a half hours.  

   Finally, the fact that you are made welcome here by the locals is probably the most important factor of all. The local people are helpful and friendly towards you. They are generally courteous and willing to spend time with you helping you with your questions and offering advice, even if you “parli Italiano” not too well…
